The Washington Learning Source (WLS) and OSPIs Digital Learning Department (DLD) offer purchasing options for school districts for a variety of online learning products, some of which overlap, such as online courses from Aventa Learning. Here are some distinctions to help you decide which contracts to use:

Online courses: Schools may register students for online courses, as needed, from OSPI-approved online course providers through the DLDs easy-to-use registration system. DLD has negotiated statewide prices with each vendor. WLS offers schools the opportunity to purchase courses that have been negotiated with discounts achieved through volume pricing.

Online resources: WLS offers a variety of bundled resources such as netTrekker, SIRS, Grolier, and Facts on File, at a single price per student (headcount). There are other online resources through the WLS that are not bundled, but are offered at separate prices per FTE.
